5.1.3 DOORADJUSTMENT

Inorderforyourwoodfiretoburnatitsbestefficiency,thedoormustprovideaperfectsealwith

the firebox. Therefore, the gasket should be inspected periodically making sure to obtain an air

tightfit.Airtightnesscanbeimprovedwithasimplelatchmechanismadjustment.To

increase the

pressureonthegasket, removeonewasher(A).Toreducepressureonthedoor,whenputtinga

newdoorgasketforexample,puttwowashers.Toadjust:

1. Unscrewthenut.

2. Removethedoorlatchandthekeypathpin(B).

3. Removeoraddonewasher

(A)asneeded.Keeptheremovedwasherforfuture

adjustment.

4. Re‐installthekeypathpininthekey‐wayandslidethelatchalongit.

5. Securewiththenut.


